How to apply

Students wanting to participate in the workshop should send a recent CV and a cover letter to inscida@gmail.com. Applications close on 25 November and all applicants will be informed of the outcome by 1 December. Please read this information for applicants before submitting your application.

 

The cover letter should contain at least the information below, but also feel free to tell us about yourself, what you hope to get out of the workshop, or anything else you think might be relevant.

 

  1. Your name and contact details (email and phone number)

  2. Your home town (i.e. where you will need to travel from in January 2016, if selected)

  3. The university you are currently studying at

  4. The degree for which you are currently registered and when you expect to graduate

  5. From the list of research problems on offer, which one is your most preferred option?

  6. From the list of research problems on offer, which one is your 2nd most preferred option?

  7. Please tell us about a bit (100-400 words) about your background in statistical and/or mathematical modelling. What techniques do you know, what courses have you studied, any projects you might have worked on, that kind of thing

  8. Please tell us about a bit (100-400 words) about your background in computer programming. Which programming languages/software have you used for statistical modelling and data analysis (e.g. R, Python, Matlab, C, C++, SAS)? Which would you comfortable using in the workshop?

  9. Will you be able to bring your own laptop?
